1. Under the pull down menu select "View" and choose "Perspective." (You may select any 3-dimensional view other than perspective as well.)
2. Under the pull down menu select "View" and choose "Edit Cone of Vision."
3. You will see the following screen.
Notice that the screen is divided into four quadrants.
- Top Left -- Top View
- Bottom Left -- Front View
- Bottom Right -- Side View
- Top Right -- Perspective View (This screen indicates the perspective that you are creating.)
The window with the thick black line around it is the selected window. By clicking in the different windows you will select the different views. (You can not select the perspective view.)
You can select a view and use your zoom tools (such as fit) to adjust the content of your window.
4. Select each orthogonal view and select "Fit" from the Zoom palette.
5. You should now see all of your model in each view.
6. Notice above the trapezoid shape made of black lines in your windows.
A. -- The small circle is where you are standing in the model.
B. -- The small + mark, indicates where you are looking in the model.
7. In the Top View set "C" the small circle where you want to stand in your model. Think of this similar to a floor plan or if you are looking straight down on your model.
8. In the Top View set "D" the + mark where you want to be looking in your model.
NOTE: At this point you have only set the perspective in the top view, you will now need to set the elevations or height of the small circle and plus (+) mark.
9. In the Front View set "E" the small circle where you want to stand above the floor in your model. Zoom in and use the grid if necessary. Typically eye level is 5'-0" above the floor.
10. In the Front View set "F" the + mark to how elevation above or below the floor you wish to be looking in the perspective. Moving the + mark up in down in front or side view is like moving your head up and down to look at the floor or ceiling.
11. Notice the perspective view, it is narrow and does not contain much information about the model. In the next step you will create a wide angel view of your perspective.
12. Click on the "G" the edge of your cone of vision. By dragging the edge you will zoom in and zoom out of your model. Adjust your Cone of Vision as necessary by setting the width of your view.
13. Click and hold the mouse button down on "H" the "Cone of Vision" bar to reveal the menu.
14. Select "Save View..." from the menu.

19. Click on "J" the activate view button to jump to the saved view. In this example you will go to "view 2."
